Hyderabad: TPCC President and Huzurnagar MLA Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has accused the TRS Government of cheating the jobless youth of Telangana State.
Disputing the figures furnished by Finance Minister Eatala Rajender in the Legislative Assembly during Question Hour on Saturday on the number of vacancies in the State, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the government was misleading the House and people with wrong figures. He pointed out that while addressing a question in second session of Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had informed that 107,744 posts were vacant in various departments. However, the Finance Minister today’s claimed that there were 56,150 vacancies. He asked whether KCR lied during the second session or Eatala was giving wrong statistics today. Describing it as a deliberate attempt to mislead the House, he said that the Congress party would take up the issue as Breach of Privilege.
Earlier, replying to a question raised by TDP MLA R. Krishnaiah and other MLAs, Eatala informed that 56,150 direct recuritment vacancies are reorted to the State Government. He said the government has issued orders for filling up 18,423 direct recruitment vacancies, out of which notifications are so far issued for 14,789 vacancies. He said that the government would notify vacancies from time to time based on requirement of man power with reference to the nature and activities of different department and also keeping in view of the overall financial implications on the State’s exchequer.
The Finance Minister dismissed Uttam Kumar Reddy’s allegations and advised the Congress leaders against politicising the issues. He said it was the Congress party which was responsible for rising unemployment in Telangana. He said said that the TRS Government was been trying hard to correct the mistakes committed by previous Congress regimes.
Meanwhile, TDP MLA Krishnaiah said nearly 5 lakh aspirants got disappointed when the State Government postponed Teachers’ Eligibility Test. He said nearly 40,000 posts should be filled through DSC without holding TET. He slammed the government for reducing number of Group-II posts. He said nearly 3500 Group-II posts in 18 different departments were pending. However, the government has issued notification for only 439 posts in 5 departments for which about 5.7 lakh candidates have applied. He also demanded that the system of interview for Group-II exams be scrapped. (INN)
