TRS govt. inaugurating Cong. Projects: Bhatti

TPCC Working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has alleged that the TRS leaders were inaugurating the projects completed by the previous Congress government once again only to see the fruits of the Jalayagnam.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday along with former Minister Sudharshan Reddy, TPCC official spokes persons Konagala Mahesh, Kisan Congress leader Ashwin Reddy, Vikramarka alleged that the Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao went to Palamuru district in the name of inauguration of projects only to see the fruits of Jalayagnam. The projects—Kalwakurthy, Bheema, Nettempadu, Koilsagar projects in Mahabubnagar were completed 95 percent during Congress government but the present Irrigation Minister visited the projects in the name of inauguration, he ridiculed.

It was ridiculous on the part of Harish Rao, who inaugurated the projects once again on Thursday, as the projects were already inaugurated during Congress government, he alleged. “It is first time in the history of the nation as nobody did like Harish Rao”, Bhatti claimed.

He asked the government to complete the Dummugudem project, which was almost completed during Congress government, by allotting Rs.200 crore. If Dummugudem was completed, two lakh acre will be irrigated immediately, he said alleging that the TRS government was redesigned the project with Rs.10,000 crore to take up new project wasting the money spent already on the project at the cost of Khammam district farmers. He said that the Telangana state will lose rights permanently on Shabari river water in case the government leaves the present project located at Godavari and Shabhari rivers meeting point. The TRS government was concentrated only on contractors welfare and not on the welfare of people.

Former Irrigation Minister Sudharshan Reddy explained that already the projects had been taken up by the previous Congress government as part of Jalayagnam and most of them were completed. But the present government concentrating only on redesigning at the cost of farmers, who were waiting for the inauguration of projects almost completed during Congress regime, he bemoaned terming it as an unfortunate act. He demanded the TRS government to complete the pending projects immediately to provide water to the Mahabubnagar district farmers.  (NSS)
