TRS jittery over GHMC polls: TD MLA

TDP MLA from Qutbullapur K P Vivekanand Goud has alleged that the TRS government was violating democratic norms in conducting GHMC elections as it was scared of losing at the ballot box.

Speaking to mediapersons at NTR trust bhavan here on Tuesday, Vivekanand Goud said the TRS government had agreed to conduct GHMC elections when the High Court reprimanded it for not holding elections. He alleged that wards’ delimitation has been done to gain benefit for TRS and MIM parties.

There should be at least 40 days gap for GHMC election process. But the government cut short the period to seven days as it doesn’t want to give an opportunity to the Opposition parties for election campaigning, he said. However, the TDP would face all hurdles created by the TRS government and Hyderabad development was possible only with the TDP, he added. (NSS)
