TRS misused Govt machinery in Khed: TD leader

Telangana TDP Raitu (farmers) Cell president Vanteru Pratap Reddy today alleged that the ruling TRS party has misused government machinery and created fear among polling agents of the Opposition parties in Narayankhed Assembly by-poll.

Speaking to media at NTR trust bhavan here, Pratap Reddy alleged that polling agents of Opposition parties were not even allowed to go near polling booths. The ruling party created fear psychosis at the polling booths by deploying 15 policemen at each polling station, he said, adding that agents belonging to Opposition were provided old voter list while ruling party polling agents were given latest 2016 voter list.

Thousands of voters were disappointed when they did not find their names in the list available with the officials, he alleged, adding that officials like the district Collector, local authorities and returning officials did not bother when they brought to their notice about the irregularities.

The TDP leader also alleged that Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao even threatened the voters that if they vote for the Opposition they will not get any pension and ration cards. Reacting on the letter submitted to the Assembly Speaker requesting him to merge TDP breakaway group into TRS party, Prathap Reddy ridiculed that an MLA, who got elected on TDP ticket five times, has sent this letter. He questioned how can a defector MLA write a letter asking to merger of a split group into ruling party. (NSS)
