Hyderabad: The Telangana Government on Monday amend the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act, 1955, to complete the entire election process in flat 14 days from the date of notification.
Municipal Administration & Urban Development Special Chief Secretary M.G. Gopal on Monday issued a GO amending Section 33 of the GHMC Act.
As per the amendment, the last date for making nominations will be three days (including public holidays) from the date of publication of the notification. Similarly, the date for the scrutiny of nominations shall be the day immediately following the last date for making nominations whether or not it is a public holiday; The date for the withdrawal of candidatures shall be the day immediately following the day of the scrutiny of nominations whether or not it is a public holiday; and the date or dates on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken which or the first of which shall be a date not earlier than the 9th day from the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures, according to the GO.
