The Telangana Government has constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee / Group of Ministers (GoM) for the flagship programme “Grama Jyothi”, to be launched on Independence Day on August 15.
The GoM will suggest ways to strengthen the Panchayat Raj Institutions and prepare detailed plans to each Gram Panchayat (G.P) for better utilisation of various funds.
The GoM will be headed by Panchayat Raj Minister K Tarakarama Rao as its Chairman. The other ministers in the GoM are Eatala Rajender (Finance), T Harish Rao (Irrigation), Pocharam Srinivas Reddy (Agriculture), Jogu Ramanna (Forest) and Tummala Nageshwara Rao (Road & Building). The Principal Secretary to Government, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development will be the convener of the Committee. “The Committee shall prepare policy frame work and submit its report to Government,” said the GO.
