TS Govt. decides to start 102 ambulance services to carry dead bodies to houses

Hyderabad: Affected by the incident of a poor person of Odisha who was forced to carry dead body of his wife on his shoulders for 10 km. Govt. of Telangana has decided to launch 102 ambulance service. It has also been decided to extend the services of 108 Ambulance vehicles.

It may be noted that in Telangana there are 316 vehicles of 108 service. Govt. has now planned to shift the dead bodies from Govt. hospitals to the residences of the patients. Govt. of India has in principle, agreed to provide funds under National Health Scheme for shifting of dead bodies to the houses.

It may be mentioned that in Govt. hospitals, many patients are dying during treatment. The family members of such patients are facing difficulties in shifting the dead bodies to their houses. All such vehicles of 108 service which were abandoned would be converted into 102. It has also been decided to constitute a separate authority for monitoring 102 service.
