Telangana government has requested Central Waqf Development Corporation to assist in development of two Waqf properties in the city. Agreeing to the proposal presented by Telangana Minority Welfare Department, the Waqf Development Corporation has sought details of both the Waqf properties.
Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel apprised officials of Union Minority Welfare Department about details of both the Waqf properties. The Waqf properties which were identified for development are Task Force Office located at Begumpet and Chawkhandi land located at Shaikhpet. The 913 sqyds land of Task Force Office is endowed under Ashurkhana Naal Saheb, Pathargatti, while 800 sqyds land of Shaikhpet is attached to Muslim graveyard.
Waqf board revenue can be increased by developing both these lands located at the prime spots of the city.
