TS Govt proposes Mega Food Park in Khammam

Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao on Saturday announced that the State Government would set up a Mega Food Park in Khammam district.

The minister, along with the officials of Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) visited Bogapadu of Sattupalli mandal to inspect the proposed site. Speaking to media persons later, he said that the Mega Food Park would be established at a cost of Rs. 112 crore. The park will create 6,000 direct and 18,000 indirect jobs. He said that the park would be highly beneficial for farmers as they would be able to directly sell their produce at better prices.

The minister said several giants like ITC, Reliance, Adani and Pepsi would invest in the proposed Park. He said efforts were being made to get investments in different districts so as to create jobs for local youth in rural areas. (INN)
