TS Govt. sanctions Rs. 36 lakh to Captain Salwa Fatima for training in New Zealand

Hyderabad: TRS MLC Mr. Farooq Husain welcomed sanctioning of Rs. 36 lakh by Telangana government for Ms. Salwa Fatima, the first woman from Old City to hold a commercial pilot licence to fly a single-seater plane, for her pilot training in New Zealand. He told that Telangana Chief Minister is proving himself to be Muslim-friendly by accomplishing the initiative taken by Siasat editor Mr. Zahid Ali Khan.

Mr. Husain further said community sympathiser and social worker Mr. Zahid Ali Khan made Syeda Salwa Fatima’s dream of flying a commercial airliner come true, the girl who belongs to a poor family residing in old city of Hyderabad. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan helped her to get commercial pilot training. On the request of Siasat editor Mr. Zahid Ali Khan representation was made to Chief Minister KCR to grant financial assistance to the Muslim woman pilot to get training of Multi-Engine Rating Course in New Zealand. On this KCR gave an immediate and positive response and sanctioned grant while issuing orders to release Rs. 36.2 lakh required for the training.

Mr. Farooq Husain thanked KCR for his minority-friendly gesture. He claimed that KCR has a passion for Urdu language and he has established Minority Residential Schools to eliminate educational and economic backwardness of Muslims. Mr. Farooq Husain also mentioned Overseas Scholarship Scheme which has been enhanced upto 20 lakh from earlier 10 lakh. He appealed minorities in general and Muslim students in particular to avail both the scheme and bring prosperity into their homes.
