TS is model state in India: KTR

Minister for Information Technology and Industries K T Rama Rao today claimed that Telangana State stood as a role model at the national level by clinching No. 1 status in the “ease of doing business”.

Addressing the media along with officials here on Tuesday, KTR said Telangana State secured 98.78% score in the ease of doing business and became an ideal State in India. Attributing the record to the team work of various departments, the minister said many reforms and new Industrial Policy proved handy to fetch huge investments. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is for ease of doing business giving necessary permissions in just two weeks through a single window system and new industrial policy famed at national level besides getting accolades from the world over.

The minister said lesser the government role and more governance is the idea of the reforms to usher in new era of fast growth and economic development trajectory. The new industrial policy proved a great success in just two years and fetched laurels from across the country and many States were trying to replicate TS policies. The No 1 position in ease of doing business is a befitting lesson to the Opposition parties that were carrying out misinformation campaigning, he said.

Efforts in industrial sector were getting fructified and the government got many awards in various sectors, he claimed. Telangana is making rapid strides in all sectors as 22 departments were working in complete coordination. “Through 22 amendments, we have simplified the process of industrial promotion, released 58 GOs, conducted 60 meetings at various levels, introduced 22 services in Labor department and the State government secured first rank on 324 issues out of 380 counted by the Centre.

As many as 1.61 lakh people got direct jobs, 14 returns have been clubbed into a single return and about 3 lakh indirect jobs were got through reforms and various new policies in departments. KCR wanted to deliver the results of people’s friendly governance in a corruption-free manner. He also claimed that 2,550 industries and businesses came to Telangana with investments as the government gives necessary support and permission in 15 days. “Development is evident in all sectors followed by the Chief Minister’s direction”, KTR said. The IT Minister said the government was trying to get investments in Pharma sector too in the State. (NSS)
