The Telangana State government today regularised the services of 40 contract labourers of Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) followed by a Supreme Court directive.
At a simple program at Secretariat here today, Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy handed over the regularization letters of TS GENCO to these 40 contract labourers, who have been working since 1996.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said some 150 persons were working as contract laborers in the KTPS out of this, services of 100 contract laborers were regularised and absorbed in view of the AP Government order No. 41/96, in the light of erstwhile AP government G.O. Ms. No. 41 dated September 23 and the remaining 50 were denied the absorption. Therefore, the aggrieved workers approached the Labour Tribunal, High Court and Supreme Court, he said. (NSS)
