TTDP demands Govt to disclose stand on farmers

Demanding that the State government reveal its stand on farmers clearly, Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) has alleged that the ruling party leaders were merely giving speeches and doing nothing for the farmers.

Speaking to the media at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Sunday, TDP Politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said the distressed farmers were setting their produce ablaze in disgust as they could not get minimum support price for their produce in the market. He also said the ministers were atrociously dubbing the farmers as rowdies. Ravula revealed that some 3,000 farmers committed in Telangana State in the last 1,000 days.

Expressing concern over the repression on the people, Ravula suggested to Telangana poets and writers, who have social awareness, to bring facts to the notice of the government. He also demanded that the State government purchase chilli and turdal immediately from the farmers and render justice to them. (NSS)
