Turkish military kills four IS terrorists across Syrian border

Ankara: Turkish military killed four Islamic State (IS) terrorists on Saturday across the Syrian border, local media reported.

The Turkish troops were patrolling along Syrian border in Oguzeli town of southern Gaziantep when they witnessed two vehicles moving towards soldiers with armed insurgents, the report quoted military sources, Xinhua quoted NTV news as saying.

The IS members fired at the Turkish troops after being warned to leave the area, the sources said.

The soldiers returned fire, killing four of the IS terrorists in one vehicle and the other vehicle fled.

Turkey has beefed up security operations against suspected militant targets around the country since Oct. 10, when two suicide bombings hit the capital of Ankara, killing 102 people and injuring many others.

Authorities said the IS was the prime suspect in the country’s deadliest terror attack in history.
