The mysterious case of Pratyusha Banerjee’s death has been going through several twists ever since she was found dead in her Mumbai flat on April 2.
According to the report on Monday doctors claim that the actor was pregnant and had undergone an abortion not long before she committed suicide.
Rahul, however, still claims that Pratyusha was not pregnant. During his visit to the Bangur Nagar Police Station in Mumbai, when asked about his late girlffriend’s pregnancy, Rahul said, “It’s false. Pratyusha was not pregnant. Since she was not pregnant, there’s no question of abortion.”
Doctors from the JJ Hospital’s forensic department confirmed that Banerjee had conceived and might have undergone either a miscarriage or an abortion day before her death. The postmortem had found the presence of a thick whitish fluid in the uterus, which indicates early stages of pregnancy or infection, and it was sent to JJ Hospital for histopathology tests.
Rahul’s former lawyer Neeraj Gupta saying, “Pratyusha was eager to get married and her family has learnt that she was keen to have a girl child. The police should investigate if she was forced to undergo an abortion and if Rahul had threatened to get out of the relationship. If true, this could form crucial evidence against Rahul, who has been booked for abetment”.
