Two groups fight at Darussalam, police deploy heavy pickets as tension prevails in the area

Hyderabad: Two groups indulged in fighting during a cricket match at Darussalam ground. Youths belonging to majority community attacked the youths of the minority community. Police became alert and posted pickets.

It is reported that an armed reserve police constable, Suresh Kumar parked his motorbike at the cricket ground. The youths who were playing cricket objected to it. The constable assaulted youths. Syed Parveez and Amer Khan, residents of Patel Nagar received injuries. Police shifted them to the hospital where they were treated as an outpatient and discharged. Tension prevailed in the area after the incident.

It may be mentioned that before the Assembly Elections, the peaceful atmosphere of the city is being disrupted on account of communal tensions. On the one hand, BJP is making an attempt to strengthen its roots in Telangana for which it has prepared a secret agenda and on the other hand, the violent speeches of the MIM leaders are causing irritation to the members of the majority community.

It is reported that Suresh Kumar was drunk. He barged into Darussalam ground to watch a cricket match. He deliberately created panic due to which the incident took a communal turn. Suresh Kumar was also beaten by the local youths. On receiving this information, the friends of the constable reached Darussalam and attacked the youths. Some youths chased Suresh Kumar and his friends which resulted in pelting stones. The vehicles in the area were also got damaged.

On account of communal tension prevailing in Darussalam, Task Force Team reached Darussalam and heavy police pickets were set up. Police are analyzing the records of CCTV cameras. Inspector of Police, Habeeb Nagar Police Station, Mr. P. Madhukar Swamy told that two complaints have been received from the parties and the investigation is in progress.
