Driver and cleaner of a private bus were killed and 20 others grievously injured when the ill-fated vehicle carrying students of Kerala’s Al-Shifa Pharmaceutical College rammed a stationary heavy vehicle on the national highway at Macharam village under Jadcharla mandal of Mahbubnagar district on Tuesday.
Some 28 students belonging to Al-Shifa Pharmaceutical College in Perunthal Manna in Malakpura district of Kerala, along with three tutors, were coming to Hyderabad on a study tour. The bus left Kerala on Monday evening and was about to reach Hyderabad this afternoon. The driver reportedly lost control over the vehicle when he tried to save an old woman on the road and hit a heavy container which was parked on the roadside.
The injured have been shifted to hospital and all of them are out of danger, it is learnt. (NSS)
