Two of marriage bureau held for cheating

The Marketing Intelligence Team of Cyber Crimes PS, CCS, DD, have apprehended two persons L.V. Subramanyam and G. Sabitha Reddy, who had allegedly cheated the many innocent people on the pretext of providing marriage alliance with fake profiles by publishing advertisements in Newspapers.

The police have seized nine Cell phones, one Laptop, Registration Certificate of firm, four payment receipt books, two advertisement details books, one Andhra Bank Cheque Book, one SBI Bank Cheque Book, empty registration forms from the possession of the accused.

Police said they received a complaint on December 1 from one Palaturi Eshwara Chari, security guard residing at Venkatagiri, Yousufguda to the effect that he was cheated by Messrs Sankalpa Marriage Bureau organizers — Venkata Subramanyam and Sabitha Reddy on the pretext of providing marriage alliance with fake profiles by giving an advertisement in a Telugu newspaper about a month ago.

The complainant said he had contacted the duo on mobile numbers after noticing an advertisement in News paper. Later, the accused collected Rs 6,000 as registration fees. When he asked them to show the bride, they had shown one of their employees by posing as bride and rejected the alliance by saying he is an illiterate. Later, the complainant received another phone call by one of their employees posing as another bride and after asking his details over phone, she rejected his match by saying he doesn’t have immovable properties. Then, the complainant enquired about the marriage bureau and realized that the marriage bureau has been cheating customers with fictitious profiles.

The team headed by Inspector G. Shanker Raju consisting of S.I. B. Lachi Reddy, SI Ramesh, HC K. Thakur, PC Hemalatha under the supervision of ACP Cyber Crimes K. C. S. Raghu Vir has cracked the case and nabbed the accused. (NSS)
