Two men held over Israeli women rape in Manali

NEW DELHI — Two men got arrested he police arrested on Monday for raping a 25-year-old, Israeli woman in the popular northern Himalayan resort town of Manali, town of Manali.

The women alleged that she had taken a lift from a car in which there were already five people sitting in the wee hours on Sunday. She said the Manali Police that she was assaulted by two people and the other people didn’t help her.

She tried her best to save herself but it was pitch dark and there was nobody around. She was not able to identify the location or the car that was not having a proper number plate.

The district police chief, Padam Chand,
said the authorities were seeking four more people in the case. He said. “The preliminary medical examination suggests rape, and the victim is being further examined by forensic experts.”

An Israeli Embassy official in New Delhi said the embassy was in touch with the victim and with the Indian authorities and added that the victim did not want the case to be publicized.

In 2013 an American woman was raped in Manali by three men when she took a ride with them in a truck. An Australian woman was also raped in the same area, located in the Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh state in 2012.
