Uttar Pradesh: Two Muslim girls are among the three toppers in Uttar Pradesh Board of High School examinations 2016, which was declared on Sunday.
Announcing the results, Director of the Board Amarnath Verma said girls secured an overall pass percentage of 91.11 in Class 10 or high school examinations as against boys who registered an overall result of 84.82%.
Saumya Patel topped the list with 98.67 percent marks. She is a student of Vibgyor Public Inter College Chandauli, Rae Bareli.
Iqra and Umrah Mahmood became the joint second rank holders by securing 98.17 percent marks. These two shared their school with the topper.
Thus the second position for class X High school is jointly shared by Iqra and Umrah Mehmood.
Both the girls are from Raebareli and studied at Vibgyor Inter College.
The third spot had been shared by three girls, Nisha Sahu, Garima and Disha Kesarwani,who obtained 97.83 percent marks.
