Two more swine flu deaths reported in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Two new swine flu deaths were reported in the government hospital here, bringing the flu-related toll to six so far, even as 15 persons are taking treatment in the hospital.

Palanisamy (58), hailing from Karamadai near here, was admitted with the symptoms of Swine flu on January 27 and died without responding to treatment last evening, hospital sources said.

Similarly, a 32-year-old woman, Sathyavani who was admitted on February 4 died last night, taking the toll to six, they said.

A one-year old boy from Salem district had died in a private hospital here, a week ago.

Meanwhile, the health department has formed special teams, which have been deputed to various places for examination and supply of drugs, they said.

The staff, doctors and nurses were administered anti-swine flu injection as a preventive measure, while the hospital has enough stock of capsules to provide to those who are coming with the symptoms, the sources said.
