U.S. to construct embassy complex in Lanka

Colombo : The United States is all set to construct a sprawling six-acre embassy complex in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The United States Department of State has awarded a USD 155 million contract to a U.S. construction company to build a new embassy complex in a seaside site in the Sri Lankan capital, reports Colombo Page.

The project consists of a new office building, U.S. marine residence, compound access control facilities, maintenance building, utility building, and a warehouse.

The scope will also include entrance and arrival plazas, paved terraces, landscape gardens, roadways, security fencing and gates, security window and door systems, stone and metal facades as well as unique interior architectural finishes.

The 48-month contract is worth USD 155,941,000. (ANI)
