U’khand: Woman held for husband, father-in-law’s murder

Dehradun: A woman has been arrested here for allegedly killing her husband and father-in-law, whose bodies were recovered from an abandoned car in Kuanwala area in Dehradun on Monday, police said.

The police have also arrested the woman’s paramour, who lived as tenant in the couple’s house, in connection with the double murder.

The bodies of Rajesh Rana and his father Prem Rana were found wrapped in blankets from the car during patrolling by a police team in Kuanwala forest area, said Sweety Agrawal, Senior Superintendent of Police.

On investigating the matter, the police reached Rajesh’s wife Deepika at Nanurkheda in Raipurand area, the SP said.

During interrogation, she broke down and confessed to have killed her husband and father-in-law with the help of her paramour Yogesh Arora and two other men.

On the intervening night of March 3 and 4, she helped the three men get entry into her house from the backdoor who then strangled Rajesh and his father with nylon ropes and inflicted multiple stab wounds on their bodies to make sure they were dead, the senior police official said.

They then put the bodies in the car after wrapping them in blankets, police said.

According to the police, Arora used to live as a tenant at Deepika’s house and they used to meet secretly.

In a bid to mislead police, Deepika had registered a missing complaint of her husband and father-in-law at a police station in Raipur.

In her complaint, she had said her husband and father-in-law had left for Bulandshahr in a car but did not return.

Based on her confession, police have nabbed Yogesh from Govindgarh and are on the look out for the other two accused who are absconding.
