Jawaharlal Nehru University administration has finalized its decision on Anirban Bhattacharya and Umar Khalid. The duo are likely to face stringent action for their alleged involvement in the pro-Afzal Guru event at the campus in February 2016.

According to IBN report, “Kanhaiya is likely to be fined Rs 10,000 while Umar and Anirban are likely to be rusticated for a period of two to five years. The three students have not been apprised of the decision as yet”, a source said.

Umar and Ariban were in the custody since 23 February after they voluntarily surrendered since there was serious threat to life, and recently released on bail.
