Hyderabad: So long as Muslims and Dalits do not get united, fascist forces would continue to trouble them since Govt. is providing an opportunity to do this.
These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily while addressing a protest meeting held at Press Club yesterday organized by Citizens’ Forum for Peace and Justice, Hyderabad against the atrocities on Muslims and Dalits under the pretext of protection of cow. Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan further told that in the recently held UP Assembly elections, Dalit leader, Ms. Mayawati could not get even a single seat from 85 Assembly constituencies where predominant population belongs to weaker sections. The tragic situation is that in these Assembly constituencies, there are 20% Muslims. Despite this, the votes of Muslims and Dalits got split and BJP won the seats. If Dalits and Muslims had fought jointly, BJP would not have got even a single seat.
Prof. Kodandaram told that India is a bouquet of various cultures and religions which fascist forces are trying to damage. We should foil their evil designs. He further told that every citizen is free to eat anything and wear as per his/her choice. We can profess any religion. No one can take away our democratic rights. No religion in the world preaches violence.
Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha, former CPI MP of Rajya Sabha told that many incidents of killing are taking place by the mobs but there is no one to take care of them. Only once, our PM raised his voice against such incidents. We cannot expect him to say more than this.
National member of Executive of CPI, Dr. K. Narayana told that anyone who raises his voice against BJP, is implicated in sedition cases. He cited the example of JNU Student leader, Kanhaiya Kumar.
The torch bearer of Dalit-Muslim unity, Mr. J.B. Raju told that the unity of Dalits and Muslims can bring about a political revolution in India. He further told that in the name of ‘Gau Raksha’, a private police has been organized to target innocent Muslims and Dalits. They are not Indians, they are Aryans.
Mr. Nayeemullah Shareef, Mr. Osman bin Mohammed Alhajiri, Mr. Sanaullah Khan, Mr. Anwar Khan, Dr. Mohammed Ali, Prof. Das and others also addressed the gathering.
