UoH students on warpath once again

Hyderabad: The students in the University of Hyderabad resumed protests in front of the main gate on Saturday protesting removal of a tent and photos of Dr Ambedkar and Rohit Vemula by the security personnel of the University.

Speaking on the occasion, the student leaders said lambasted the Union government for not removing University Vice-Chancellor P. Appa Rao, who was alone responsible for driving research scholar Rohit Vemula to commit suicide in one of the university hostels under mental torture caused by the Brahmin dominated Central University. They alleged that the authorities were systematically harassing and suppressing the Dalit students continuously.

The UoH student leaders questioned the necessity of removing the tent and portraits of Rohit Vemula and Dr Ambedkar in the same night by the security personnel. The students, once again reiterated that their struggle would not end till the Centre initiated strict action against the VC. (NSS)
