Urdu on official signboards demanded

Hyderabad: Bangaru Telangana Party (BTP) has demanded the government to see that Urdu language is also included on all government office sign boards within a fortnight without fail, as otherwise, the party members as a novel protest would obliterate the existing office sign boards without Urdu with black paint starting from the Transport Department.

MohdAmanullah Khan, Convenor, in a press statement announced “we would prefer to go to jail rather than tolerate the step-motherly treatment being meted out to Urdu language in Telangana by the TRS government”.

He alleged that there is a lot of difference between the statements and actions of Chief Minister KCR, with regard to second official language status to Urdu, so much so that Urdu is not seen on buses these days and also it is not included in the TSRTC logo.

Despite protests, the government is remaining as a silent spectator. This was nothing but never ending blackmail of the ruling party, he added.
