Stating that the TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy was only the Chief Minister candidate in Congress party, TPCC vice-president and former MP Mallu Ravi said that the Congress party would participate in 2019 elections under the leadership of Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Ravi alleged that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao were not implementing the assurances given during the elections. The Chief Minister, who failed to respond on the issue of Asha workers and contract employees when they staged dharnas, was now speaking in favour of them keeping the nearing elections in view. He demanded the state government to give Rs.9000 to Asha workers instead of Rs.6000 announced by the Chief Minister. (NSS)
