Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana has decided to strengthen education sector in various universities of Telangana State by filling up vacant posts of various categories.
It is reported that in 11 universities of Telangana, there are 1061 vacant posts. The process of recruitment to these posts would start soon. Govt. of Telangana has issued instructions to Vice Chancellors of these universities to issue notifications for recruitments. For recruitment to these posts, a screening test would be conducted based on which a merit list would be prepared.
Govt. has instructed the officials to formulate guidelines. It is reported that Telangana Council for Higher Education would formulate these guidelines. Various Vice Chancellors have reported that for 692 posts of Asst. Professors, a large number of applications is expected to be registered. It is therefore, not possible to conduct interviews for these candidates.
According to the process of recruitment prevailing in Osmania, Kakatiya and other universities in Telangana, screening tests are proposed to be conducted. It was suggested by Vice Chancellors so that any controversy could be avoided.
A three member committee has been constituted to formulate modalities of recruitments in 11 universities of Telangana State. It includes Vice Chancellors of Osmania, JNTU-H and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Universities.
It is reported that there are 692 vacancies of Asst. Professors, 270 posts of Associate Professors and 99 posts of Professors for which separate notifications would be issued. The three member committee would formulate guidelines for the recruitment of teachers. After the approval of the recommendation of this committee, the process of recruitment would start.

Mahatma Gandhi University (Professors-10, Associate Professors-15 and Asst. Professors-9); Palamur University (Professors-12, Associate Professors-10 and Asst. Professors-41); Shatavahana University (Professors-09, Associate Professors-16 and Asst. Professors-15); Telangana University (Professors-11, Associate Professors-25 and Asst. Professors-23); B.R. Ambedkar University (Associate Professors-3 and Asst. Professors-7); Telugu University (Associate Professor-1 and Asst. Professors-6); Kakatiya University (Associate Professors-5 and Asst. Professors-10); JNTU-H (Professors-32, Associate Professors-52 and Asst. Professors-102) and Osmania University (Associate Professors-121 and Asst. Professors-294).
