Van Gaal hails `committed` Man U post FA Cup win over Shrewsbury

London: Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has lavished praise on his players, saying they are extremely committed to the side after they brushed aside minnows Shrewsbury Town 3-0 to reach the FA Cup quarter-final.

United, which have not been in good form since the start of the season, displayed a much improved performance and dominated the entire match.

Reflecting on their performance, the Dutchman insisted that United performed really well and that they played according to the game plan.

Van Gaal also revealed that his side had copied a free-kick routine from Midtjylland against whom United suffered a humiliating 1-2 defeat in the first leg of the last-32 Europa League tie.

The 64-year-old said that the Old Trafford club had learned a lot from their defeat and after that they analysed where they went wrong, the Guardian reported.

Van Gaal, however, urged United players to shift their focus on the upcoming clash against Midtjylland.

He admitted Midtjylland are well organized and, therefore, called on his side to fight hard against them.

United will play the second leg against Midtjylland at Old Trafford on Thursday. (ANI)
