Venkaiah condemns racial attacks in US, console parents of Kuchibotla Srinivas

Severely condemning the brutal killing of a Telugu engineer Kuchibotla Srinivas in Kansas City the other day, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu here on Sunday wanted the US government to respond to such racial attacks immediately and take “strongest action” to nip the hate crimes in the bud.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Venkaiah Naidu said, “American President and people of America, should come out openly to condemn such actions…and then take strongest action. Also send a message that it is not acceptable,” he said, adding that kind of incidents involving racial discrimination are shameful. They will dent the image of the USA. President Trump, his Administration and civil societies should unequivocally respond and condemn such hate incidents. I, as a Union minister condemn such incidents,” he said, adding that he spoke with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who gave appropriate directions to the Indian High Commission.

 

Venkaiah Naidu, his cabinet colleague Bandaru Dattatraya and party MLA G Kishan Reddy today called on the parents of Kuchibotla Srinivas and consoled them.

 

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the body of Kuchibotla Srinivas is expected to arrive at Shamshabad airport on Monday night and last rites are likely to be performed on Tuesday. (NSS)
