Venkaiah deplores pathetic educational standards in rural schools

Union urban development minister M. Venkaiah Naidu launched Telangana State’s first National Pre-School Chain “Sanskriti Global Pre-School” at a function held at HICC here on Sunday morning.  

Sanskriti Educational Society operates the popular ‘Sanskriti School’ with over 700-pupil strength in Kondapur. The Hyderabad-based Sanskriti school plans to set up 3,000 Franchisee Outlets in the next five years, Revati Raju, Founder said.

           

Addressing the gathering, Venkaiah Naidu said, “When you educate a man, you educate an individual but when you educate a woman, you educate an entire family.” An educated woman will have self-confidence, skills as well as intelligence to understand the need. Education is the only tool with which a girl or woman can empower herself and eventually her family”, Venakaiah observed. He said India is determined to educate children, especially girl-child. Even after declaring Education as a fundamental right, approach towards girls education has not changed”, he observed and deplored the pathetic educational standards in rural areas where a fifth grader is unable to read second grade text book.  Their level of maths and reading is declining, Venkaiah Naidu said, adding that the Modi government draws motivation from the age old ways of according women their due. (NSS)
