VH asks govt to identify sportspersons

Congratulating Badminton player PV Sindhu for winning silver medal in Rio Olympics, Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao suggested to the government to strive to identify sportspersons instead of creating “hungama” when sportsperson achieve medals.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, VH said that the government has to encourage the sports persons living in rural areas by allotting huge funds to the sports. Asking the political leaders not to interfere with sports organizations, VH said the governments have to move forward keeping next Olympics in view.

Finding fault with the language used by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao against the Congress party’s power point presentation on irrigation projects, VH said it was not correct on the part of KCR to use word ‘Mannu Mashanam’. He asked the Chief Minister to tell whether losing national status to Pranahitha-Chevella project due to the change of its design was true or not.

Targeting cine actor Pawan Kalyan, VH said he was surprised at Pawan Kalyan’s statement that he will not wage fight against the Centre on special status to Andhra Pradesh State. “It is not correct on the part of Pawan Kalyan to say that he will not fight on behalf of people?”, he wondered.  (NSS)
