VHR For Privilege Motion Against Smrithi—Rohit Issue

Hyderabad: Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao alleged that Union Human Resource Development Minister Smrithi Irani has spoken lies in the Parliament on Hyderabad Central University student Rohit Vemula suicide issue.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, VH said that he suggested the party high command to serve a Privilege Motion notice against Smrithi Irani. Making it clear that social boycott was the main reason for the suicide of the Rohit Vemula, VH demanded that the vice-chancellor Podile Appa Rao and MLC Ramachander Rao, who were allegedly reason for the death of Rohit, be punished.
The Rajya Sabha member alleged that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who criticized the Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao saying that the latter was buying MLAs like animals in the market, was doing the same now as did KCR. He asked Chandrababu to introspect himself as how far his act of making other party MLAs join TDP was correct. He also asked the MLAs, who changed their party, to go for election by tendering resignation to their MLA posts. (NSS)
