VHR wants Hitec City to be named after Rajiv Gandhi

The Congress party on Friday demanded that the IT corridor Hitec City be named after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Former MP and senior Congress leader V Hanumanth Rao wrote to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao requesting him to name Hitec City after Rajiv Gandhi. In the letter, the former MP said that the former PM Rajiv Gandhi played a vital role in ushering in information technology in the country by introducing IT in governance and administration. It would be a befitting tribute if the services of the former PM are recognized and the Hitec City is named after him, the Congress leader said. (INN)
