Video: 125 crore Indians have to turn ‘Swaraj’ into ‘Surajya’, says PM Modi

New Delhi: As India woke upto celebrate its 70th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on conveyed his greetings to 125 crore Indians and the Indian community living overseas. Prime Minister Modi lauded India saying that India’s age is not 70 years, but the journey post colonial rule for a better India is 70-year-old and the onus is on 125 crore people, who have made it possible to convert this ‘Swaraj’ into ‘Surajya’. Addressing the gathering at Red Fort, PM Modi cited that everyone needs to understand their responsibilities for a better India. He said that India faces a lot of challenges, but the 125 crore people of India had the ability to face and overcome these challenges. PM Modi said that for ‘Surajya’, one needs to give importance to good governance, accountability and transparency. The Prime Minister also listed the number of initiatives taken by the government. He also mentioned about the ease in the process of accessing passports.
