Video: Now you can carry your Aadhaar details on Smartphone using ‘mAadhaar’ app – Know how it works

New Delhi: Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), a statuary authority under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has launched mAadhaar app which let users to save their Aadhaar details on their Smartphone.

In order to use this app, users need to first register their mobile number with UIDAI. This app allows users to download Aadhaar details like name, date of birth, gender, address and the photograph on their Smartphone. To secure their personal details, users can also lock and unlock biometric details. This app can be Users can download the app from Google play store. However, this app is presently available for Android users only.

According to the Economic Times report, apart from carrying details, users can update their details via QR Code and can also share eKYC details with service providers.

With this new app, the need to carry Aadhar card everywhere will be removed and verification and availing Aadhaar-based services can be possible without a hard copy of Aadhar card.
