Villages shine through synergy, Plan: KCR

Exhorting people of rural pockets to involve themselves in implementing a need-based plan for their own villages, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today bemoaned that the villages remained undeveloped for seven consecutive decades after country’s Independence due to negligence, failure to use funds devolved and corruption.

Speaking at an awareness program on Grama Jyothi for district Collectors, Joint Collectors, Superintendents of Police and Zilla Parishad CEOs and officials concerned at Prof Jayashankar Agriculture University here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said the State government will pump in adequate funds to achieve overall development of these villages wherein the people have to vie for implementing a perfect plan of action to complete the works on priority basis.

Directing the MLAs to adopt one village in one mandal and emulate significantly developed Ankapur, Gangadevipally and Mulkhanur to achieve fast growth, he said. He called upon the villagers to come forward to set up committees as in the case of Gangadevipally with 25 committees for 25 types of works of the village. KCR attributed the non-development of villages, which are mired in gloomy picture and deprived of all the facilities due to failure of using funds devolved. “Our Villages will really shine with all facilities, infrastructure and better environment in the near future, when the local people go hand in hand with abundant human resources”, he said. He exuded confidence that “we can create miracles if the rural populace put in concerted efforts using Grama Jyothi scheme. Change Agents should be active to rejuvenate the strengths, he added.
