Spouses of Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister K Chandraekhar Rao today participated in Saddula Bathukamma festival on Tank bund to mark the grand finale before the rally of 20,000 women with Bathukammas, hundreds of artistes and tableaux from districts joined the Tank But at 4.30 pm.
Vimala Narasimhan and Shobha KCR encouraged the huge gathering of women by playing Bathukamma song before a makeshift dais on the Tank Bund which was enticingly decorated to mark the occasion. They also patiently shared the moments with the women, who sang songs in circles for some time. To mark the grand finale, Narasimhan and KCR released a brochure on the occasion. When Telangana Jagruthi Chief and MP Kavitha, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy and Karimnagar ZP Chief T Uma came on to the dais with colourful Bathukammas overheads, Narasimhan affectionately came to them and held one Bathukamma that Kavitha was carrying for a few seconds and handed over it to her. Later the troika came down to join the team of women, who indulged in the song of festival in glee and gusto. Entire Tank Bund premises was illuminated and made to attract the crowds.
Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary, Chairman Swamy Goud, Ministers, Rajender, KTR, Jagadish Reddy, Telangana Sanskrithika Sarathi Chief Rasamayi Balakishan, MP Keshava Rao, MLA Srinivas Goud and many others attended the event held before the grand finale. The floral festival of Telangana today witnessed a grand finale of spectacle show of artistes of various art forms. (NSS)
