Virasam extends full support to MRPS demand for categorization of SCs

Questioning as to why categorization of SCs was not possible when it was possible with the BCs, Virasam announced its full support to the MRPS’ demand of categorization of reservations of SCs.

The Virasam leaders released an open letter here on Tuesday declaring outright support to the demand of MRPS. The leaders P Vara Vara Rao, G Kalyan Rao have demanded the Centre to categorize the SCs to benefit weaker sections on the basis of population. The Virasam leaders, in their letter, remembered that MRPS has been waging fight for the categorization of SC reservations for the last 20 years. They demanded the Centre to introduce the SC Categorization Bill and make it a law. They argued in their letter that the MRPS was fighting for the last 20 years to distribute the fruits of SC reservations equally to 59 sub-castes of SCs and demanded the Centre to bring the law categorizing reservations of SCs.

The Virasam leaders alleged that the upper caste and rulers were not implementing reservations properly in the country. They said Madiga, Dakkali, Chindu, Mashti, Budagajangam, Dasari and Begari castes were not enjoying the SC reservations even today. They said there was an urgent need to categorize the SC reservations and distribute reservations on the basis of population to eradicate inequalities in SC reservations. They said the fight for the categorization of SC reservations was justified. They demanded the Centre to introduce categorization of SC reservation bill in the ongoing Parliament session and asked the intellectuals, writers, democrats to extend their support in this regard.
