Virender Sehwag rules out speculation about retirement

New Delhi :India’s out of favour opener Virender Sehwag’s retirement news created buzz within his fans and cricket fraternity. Suddenly, the entire social media was buzzing with his retirement news, after the Najafgarh Nawab confirmed his participation in next year’s Masters Champions League 2020, where only retired cricketers can play.

However, Sehwag dismissed all the speculations of his retirement and he will play the entire domestic season for Haryana. ‘Not yet’, the Haryana skipper said to reporters in Dubai.

Two days back, left arm fast bowler Zaheer Khan announced his retirement from international cricket. If Viru, call it a day then an era of some aggressive cricket will come to an end.

The Najafgarh Nawab, played 104 Test scoring 8586 runs with 23 tons and 32 half-centuries over 12 years of his glorious international career.

He is the only Indian batsman to score two triple centuries in Tests. He holds the record for India having scored career-best knock of 319 against Pakistan at Multan.

Playing 251 ODIs, he scored 8273 runs at an average of 35.05 and with 15 hundreds. In 19 Twenty20 Internationals, he managed 394 runs with two half-centuries.

Sehwag, has been the part of the team which won the 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup. He was also the part of fav five played for the Indian team.

He had played his last Test match against Australia and last ODI against Pakistan in 2013.
