Wakf Board income affected due to political interference – Saleem to seek CM’s cooperation

Hyderabad: Due to the political intervention, the income of the Wakf Board has been badly affected. Chairman of Telangana State Wakf Board, Mr. Mohammed Saleem has decided to seek the cooperation of CM in order to check political intervention in stopping auctions of various dargahs.

It may be mentioned that in Telangana, there are three important dargahs which pool up income for Wakf Board. All these dargahs are under the direct control of Wakf Board but the peoples’ representatives and TRS leaders intervene in these auctions.

Mr. Mohammed Saleem auctioned the hundi of Dargah Hazrat Jahangir Peeran recently which was successful. It is expected that the income from this dargah would be increased.

The management of Dargah Hazrat Sadullah Husaini, Bada Pahad, Nizamabad is also under the direct control of Wakf Board. Mr. Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Agriculture Minister played a key role in stopping the auction. He is still avoiding extending his cooperation to Wakf Board in conducting the auction. He desires that the management should be kept under the control of the committee of the officials. After the appointment of the committee of officials, the income has been affected. The institution which used to earn Re. 1 crore is incurring losses.

In a meeting held with the Agriculture Minister, Chairman of Wakf Board, Mr. Mohammed Saleem supported conducting the auction.

It is reported that very soon, the arrangement of auctions would be finalized. The amount released earlier by Wakf Board to the committee of Wakf Board officials for making arrangements of Urs has not been accounted for. No proper facilities were provided to the pilgrims on the occasion of the Urs.
