Karachi: Waqar Younis has launched a blistering tirade on the Pakistan Cricket Board for ‘leaking’ and ‘ twisting’ details of his confidential report on the national team’s performance since he over as the team’s head coach.
Earlier, the former pace spearhead had presented a strongly worded and detailed report to the PCB on Tuesday and later to the fact-finding committee formed to assess Pakistan’s poor performance in the World Twenty20.
However, the disclosure of his report attracted the ire of Waqar, who questioned who was leaking information from the confidential reports.
He insisted that he had given a fair assessment but added that certain parts of his report had been picked, moulded and leaked in the media in order to portray him as a villain, the Dawn reported.
Waqar went on to say that there was more politics in Pakistan cricket than the parliament.
According to reports, Waqar had accused former wicketkeeper and team manager Moin Khan of disrupting team culture.
Earlier, the head coach admitted that Pakistan’s disastrous performance in the World T20 had left him deeply hurt, adding that the team were facing numerous problems at the moment and that he was ready to step down from the post for the team’s benefit.(ANI)
