Following the sale of prime lands by the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) at Raidurgam, Kokapet and Manikonda, to various private companies, the Waqf Board has sought details about the lands.
Chief Executive Officer Waqf Board Mohammed Asadullah is said to have sent a letter to the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) seeking details such as survey numbers of the land.
It must be noted that most of the lands in Raidurgam and Manikonda are Waqf lands hence it is being tried to find out if the lands sold are Waqf lands. Most of the lands in Manikonda are Waqf under Dargah Hazrat Husain Shah Vali.
It must be recalled that government began allotting lands to various companies in the year 2000. In the beginning 50, 200 and 250 acre land was allotted to Infosys, Urdu University and Indian School of Business respectively. Later land was also allotted to Microsoft, Wipro, VJIL and Polaris.
The State government conducted an online auction of 20 land parcels spread across Raidurgam, Manikonda and Kokapet localities near Hi-tech City and the lands have been sold for record price.
Waqf Board will review whether the sold lands fall under Waqf properties. If it is proved, representation would be made with the government.
