Waqf Board split in final phase

The division of Waqf Board between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states is in final phase. Although the central government had issued notification regarding Waqf Board division last month but the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were busy carrying out legal procedure.

Central government has dissolved the Board hence both the states have to appoint separate Special Officer and Chief Executive Officer. In current situation Chief Executive Officer is monitoring the Board affairs and only routine day to day activities are done. Till the division, no officer is entitled to take important decisions. Government wants that 2nd Waqf survey which began in 2001 should be completed till the split is done.
