Warner backs ruthless Aussies to show no mercy on Windies

Melbourne, Dec.7 : Australian opening batsman David Warner has admitted that his side will show no mercy to wounded West Indies in the upcoming three-match Test series between the two sides.

Calling on his side to play a `sensible game`, the 29-year-old said that the players need to execute their skills as well as they could in order to beat the visitors, reported.

The left-handed explosive batsman, who had averaged just 26.9 from five Tests against West Indies, also urged his side to remain at the top of the game.

Warner, however, admitted that West Indies could turn out really hard in the first session.

Eighth-ranked West Indies suffered a humiliating 10-wicket loss to Cricket Australia XI in Brisbane ahead of the Test series opener.

West Indies, which is currently in a declining phase, had last claimed a Test victory in Australia in 1997 and will aim to improve that record when they take on second-ranked Australia in the first Test, starting in Hobart on Thursday. (ANI)
