Basseterre : Australian swashbuckling opener David Warner struck a blistering century before the bowling unit came in fore to help their side claim a comfortable 36-run win over South Africa in the fourth ODI of the tri-nation series at Warner Park in St. Kitts.

The swashbuckling batsman smashed 11 boundaries and two sixes in his 109-run knock and also shared a huge 136-run stand with Usman Khawaja (59) for the second wicket as Australia posted a score of 288 for six in their stipulated 50 overs.

Skipper Steve Smith also made significant contribution in his side’s innings with his unbeaten 52 runs.

In reply, South Africa failed to counter the Australian bowling attack and were eventually bundled out for 252 in 47.4 overs despite some brilliant efforts by Hashim Amla (60) and Faf du Plessis (63).

For Australia, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa bagged three wickets each.

Warner was adjudged `man of the match` for his match-winning contribution.

Australia will play their next match of the day-night series against hosts West Indies at the same venue on Monday. (ANI)
