Kolkata: There have been lot of controversies and debates about the Indian history becoming a victim of ‘nationalism,‘the word is confused with the patriotism’ and ‘Hinduism’. Even if it is about the battle of Haldighati won by the Maharana Pratap or the Mahenjodaro dancing girl named as goddess Parvati.
According to Indian Express, Indian history is being neglected and kept away from the textbooks. Children don’t know about their own country’s history though we learn about Mughals, Cholas, Pandavas, Ashoka and the long British Raj. Indian history is not included in the syllabus of the students they are unaware of the great traditions, cultures, and history of the seven sister states. Unfortunately some even doesn’t know which are the seven sister states are.

None even cared to educate youngsters about the history of northeastern states. A 12-year-old, Aaira Goswami from Assam lives in Jaipur had requested to the prime minister to take action so that schoolkids could be taught about the states.
In regard of this she has written a letter and posted a video requesting PM Modi to ensure that the history of the Northeast is included in school textbooks all over the country.
The letter reads as “I know a lot about the Mauryans, the Mughals and the Guptas. I have even written exams on these emperors. I know very little about Lachit Borphukon and the Ahoms who ruled Assam for 600 years defeating the Mughals 17 times soundly in battle,” she wrote.
