Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board supplies water to the twin cities, Hyderabad Secunderabad and city outskirts. Mostly the water is supplied from Krishna and Godavari rivers in different phases. It is believed that the water is treated before it is supplied, so that citizens could get pure drinking water. But surprisingly staff of Hyderabad Metro Water Board themselves don’t drink tap water instead they buy bottled water supplied by various companies. The bottled water is collected at Water Board head office located at Khairiatabad and thereby officials and workers drink that. Use of bottled water for drinking purpose by Water Board is enough to create apprehensions among the citizens. It implies that Water Board officials do not trust purity of the water supplied through taps. If their claim of supplying pure drinking water to the consumers is true then why they themselves don’t drink tap water?
