Water will not be tapped from Singur and Manjra – Water Board

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has decided not to get water from Singur and Manjra dam since both these water bodies had dried up in November last year.

It may be noted water is drawn from these two water bodies for Hyderabad and Secunderabad. After this decision, steps to accelerate to get water from Godavari increased.

It may be mentioned that water board was getting 45 million gallon water from Singur at Ellampally and 120 million gallon water from Manjra daily. The sources of Water Board told that water of these two water bodies has been preserved for the next summer season.
